Rivington Pilgrimage

Rivington Pilgrimage

10 Oct 2022

On Saturday 1st October 2022, Unitarian congregations from Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside gathered for the Rivington Pilgrimage that takes place every three years.

Our fellowship began with lunch in a local church hall. It was after lunch the President of the General Assembly of Unitarians and Free Christians, the Rev. Sue Woolley talked about the difficult times the world and this country has and is going through.

We must be vigilant in these times, more than ever liberal spirituality is needed. After raising our glasses for Unitarianism and Civil Liberty, we processed to Rivington Chapel.

The Rev. Phil Waldron from the Merseyside Partnership led the Service. The theme that the Rev. Phil explored Truth, and when to choose our battles.

The congregation were delighted by Phil playing on the guitar and singing an adaptation of The Sound of Silence.

A truly delightful and inspiring afternoon in Rivington.
